In the ‘old days’ we would have described this book as “Laugh Out Loud” funny, and I can’t think of a better way to describe it now; in places I was laughing so hard the tears where streaming down my cheeks.

Original Sin is a good-old fashioned spy novel, dressed up as a hilarious comedy. ‘Sally Sin’ was once an almost kick-butt super agent for USAWMD (United States of America Agency for Weapons of Mass Destruction). She had her nemesis’, Ian Blackford and the Blind Monk, but she managed to get out of trouble, and most of the time the mission was accomplished. But now she’s stay at home mum to toddler, Theo, and married to eco-warrior husband Will. Unfortunately, the agency wants her back.

“Simon looks alarmed. Put him in a room full of armed terrorists and he’s right as rain. Expose him to a mostly toilet-trained toddler and he freaks.”

Although most of the story is written in a relatively predicable manner, it still manages to have original plot and punchy jokes.

The characters are great fun, and well developed, with wonderfully personalities that create this great interaction.  Original Sin is a story that really is woven together, with the plot twists, the comedy and the character development all creating a wonderfully delightful and entertaining read.

If you’re a fan of Kerry Greenwood or Janet Evanovich you will NOT want to miss out of Beth McMullen. This is great stuff!
